Jason is now 40 years old and was forced to retire from professional football due to a knee injury.

Since then he returned to his first club, and the club he supported as a boy, Chelsea FC, to work as a coach in their Football in the Community programme, coaching kids from U6s to U12s. After a short time he quickly made his way in to the Academy set up and was, after 18 months, given the sole responsibility of training and managing the U11s for the next two years.

During this period Jason took and passed my UEFA B badge and was fast becoming a more experienced and confident coach. So much so that in the summer of 2004, along with Eddie Newton, they were given the responsibility of taking Chelsea's Reserves for pre-season training.

Jason was then given the task of coaching the U12s. Throughout his time at Chelsea he has coached all age groups from 5 years to adult professionals.

Chelsea FC continued to support and encourage him and sent him on various courses to improve his knowledge and skills. This included understanding how children learn and the best ways to teach them.

Jason also ran his own Jason Cundy Soccer School for nearly two years very successfully and organised after-school football clubs for schools. He was also sent by the PFA and Chelsea FC to coach children holidaying in Spain. During his time coaching, training and managing he has learnt a huge amount about the coaching side of football and how best to organise children of all ages and standards. If they enjoy the sessions they will learn and their attention will not wander. If you are enthusiastic, this will undoubtedly rub off to create a fun atmosphere.
